At Circuit Debate Trainer (CDT), we believe debate is about more than showing up — it’s about winning at the highest level. Our program is designed to combine the structure of a debate club with the depth of elite coaching, so students leave every practice better prepared, more confident, and more competitive.

Last season, coach Sebastian Glos worked with a team that attended only 8 tournaments and won 5 of them. That success reflects our philosophy: focused prep, sharp strategy, and the right coaching win rounds.

Meetings twice a week

Students attend weekly online practices featuring big lectures on cutting-edge strategy and small group coaching for personalized feedback. Rotating modules include drills, practice rounds, and prep days — ensuring consistent skill growth and tournament readiness.

Elite Prep & Research

Coaches guide students through each resolution with innovative research and argument development. Every member also receives access to CDT’s Prep Drive, thousands of backfiles, updated topic files, drills, and recorded lectures that set debaters apart.

Extra Learning & Tutoring

Beyond practices, students join weekly seminars on Kritiks and theory, get quick access to coaches for strategy support, and attend focused skill clinics. CDT members also unlock discounted 1-on-1 tutoring at just $50/hour.

National Community

CDT unites debaters from across the U.S., from newcomers to TOC competitors. Collaboration across ages and levels fosters mentorship, while students build lasting friendships and connections that extend beyond debate.

Core Weekly Programming

Team Practices

Each week, CDT students attend two one-hour sessions designed to combine broad instruction with individualized coaching:

• Big Lecture: One lecturer delivers a deep dive on national circuit strategy, cutting-edge arguments, or round vision. These sessions ensure every CDT student is on the same page, exposed to the most innovative arguments, and learning from top educators.

• Small Group Coaching: Students sign up to work in smaller groups with their assigned coach. These sessions may include topic-specific mini-lectures, intensive drills, live file reviews, or case-specific strategy discussions. The smaller format ensures every student gets personalized feedback and focused skill development.

Rotating Practice Modules

Across the season, weekly practices also rotate between:

• Drills that build the mechanics of winning: collapsing, weighing, efficiency, and judge adaptation.

• Practice Rounds with direct feedback that replicates tournament pressure.

• Prep Days where students collaborate on arguments and strategy for upcoming events.

Guided Prep & Research

• Topic Research: Coaches guide students through each resolution, teaching not just what to run but how to innovate.

• Winning Arguments: Our prep emphasizes depth, originality, and strategic utility — arguments that actually win rounds.

• Resource Hub: Access to evidence files, blocks, and lectures ensures students have what they need beyond practice.

Prep Drive (Thousands of Pages): Every CDT student receives access to our digital prep drive, which includes:

• Thousands of pages of backfiles across, Kritiks, theory, and policy arguments.

• Continuously updated topic files for each resolution.

• Blocks, frontlines, and drills designed for the national circuit.

• Recorded lectures explaining how to use the prep effectively in round.

Supplemental Learning

• Weekly Seminars: Smaller deep-dives on Kritiks, theory, or philosophy frameworks.

• Coach Chat: Quick access to coaches outside of practice for strategy, questions, or content clarification.

• Skill Clinics: Extra workshops targeting specific abilities like cross-ex, weighing, or collapse strategy.

• Private Tutoring Discounts: CDT students may book 1-on-1 private coaching sessions with CDT instructors at a discounted rate of $50/hour (exclusive to enrolled members).

MEET THE COACHES

Sebastian Glos

Sebastian Glos graduated magna cum laude from Florida State University with a degree in Finance and served as President of the FSU Debate Team for two years. He has coached Public Forum at Lake Highland for four years, where multiple teams he coached have been ranked in the top 10 nationally. His students have earned dozens of TOC bids and won tournaments such as Marist, Blue Key, Nova, The Tradition, and Sunvite, with deep outrounds at Yale, Berkeley, TOC, and more. Sebastian specializes in policy-oriented argumentation and has extensive experience coaching kritiks. As a collegiate debater, he was named an NFA All-American and was a national tournament quarterfinalist and won multiple tournaments.
